Positive: Traditional Japanese accommodation, quaint but well-equipped inside. Air-conditioning, mattresses to sleep on the floor, sofa, well-equipped kitchen, great shower with good hot water and pressure, washing machine, microwave oven, no convection oven (but inductio hob and a grill), fridge-freezer, umbrellas provided. Toilet had no heating and there was no bidet (not a 'Japanese toilet'). Separate from the shower. About 10 minutes' walk to the nearest train station to take us into Osaka. Taxi from airport 9,000 JPY. Very scenic surroundings with a stream adjacent, a temple nearby, cafe, etc.

Negative: Toilet cold, un-heated. No heated toilet seat or bidet in the toilet. Be very careful about the directions. The link provided in the confirmation email was accurate, but if you put into maps the address they give you, it will take you to a wrong location! I strongly suggest that the hosts give GPS coordinates to the guests in addition to the link. No parking available even nearby; nearest available paid parking was 1.2 km away.

Summary: Overall, a very lovely place to stay. Minor niggles. Get directions accurately.
