Summary: Mammothresort & Guesthouse was conveniently located inside the National park-easy to get to the mountain.
Room was acceptably clean. There is a refrigerator with 2 bottles of water upon arrival.
Not many power outlets, but we unplugged something from behind the TV to charge our phones-a bit far from the bed.
Bed is fairly comfortable. A thinnish quilt on a fairly comfortable mattress with the plastic still on for some reason (maybe to prevent stains). There is working AC and a floor heating system if needed.
The bathroom was clean. Hot water takes a while to heat up-good to know if you stay there. Just wait about 10 minutes before getting in the shower.
All in all, a good one nighter before hiking Seoraksan.

Summary: Recommended! Fantastic experience at this guesthouse. The owners were so attentive and helpful - They did not speak english but through translation apps we were able to make plans and agree check out times etc. They were always available and looking for ways to help us. They are some really nice touches such as free toast in the morning and a coffee machine. The rooms are really practical - exactly as shown in their photos, each room having a sink, small coooker and futon bedding for additonal people. It's a basic hotel but absolutely ideal for walkers because it's in the heart of the national park.
If you are planning on hoking then this is a great choice!

Summary: The room was clean and basic, about what I was expecting for the price...but here's why they deserve five stars from me. In the morning, I checked out but left my suitcase to pick-up later in the day after my planned visit to Seoraksan National Park. While in the park, I was caught in big rainstorm which I was not prepared for and got soaking wet.
I returned the the hotel and asked if I could still use my room to change cloths and maybe even stay for several more hours until the time of my bus departure. We communicated using a translator app, which was fine. The proprietor agreed saying no problem, especially kind of him since upon returning to my room, it was already cleaned and prepared for the next guest.
A couple hours later, a knock on the door in which I assumed was my eviction notice. However when I opened the door, the man handed me a plate of food and fruit!
Thank you for your kindness!
